Description
This visual identity for Program Records, a startup record pressing company, has been selected for implementation during my study at RMIT over a studio project.
We believe that 'Technology can create magic to your music'. A styling simple but bold brand identity is proposed to a newly established vinyl pressing plant called Program Records based in Northern suburbs of Melbourne. By purchasing the world first computerized pressing WarmTone machinery, Program Records aims to produce and press high-quality vinyl records locally to support Melbourne music community and lead the vinyl industry.
The story behind the logo all begins with ‘black magic’. Here, the logo mark combines ‘vinyl records’ with ‘magic potion’. Magic potion is where all the amazing things being made by old witches. The classic myth originated from the Western culture is kinda evil and dark but fits the culture of vinyl records industry and community which are out of the mainstream but in a way mystery, iconic and bold.
A Splash Page is proposed to be up for 5 months and promotional postcards for the very first launching in July, 2017.
